Description
Lemongrass – Cymbopogon Flexuousus – is a tropical plant native to Maritime Southeast Asia. Our Lemongrass comes from India and is organically cultivated. It has a beautiful citrus scent and is used in soaps, air fresheners and other personal care products. The leaves and the oil are used to make medicine.
Lemongrass was found to be effective against drug resistant bacteria!
Published by Science Direct: “It can be suggested that use of lemongrass oil would be helpful in the treatment of infections caused by multidrug resistant organisms.”
It was surprising to learn that Lemongrass is often applied for the relief of skin infections, blood infections, serious intestinal infections and even pneumonia.
I love using Lemongrass in my air fresheners. It is powerful enough to take away almost any smell. It’s so affordable too!
Lemongrass oil is an effective repellent against mosquitoes and house flies. In this study, its effectiveness was assessed on stable flies in laboratory conditions.
“These results suggest that lemongrass oil could be used as an effective repellent against stable flies. Additional studies to confirm its spatial repellent and feeding deterrent effects are warranted.” Extract from study published by the US National Library of Medicine.
Lemongrass – Cymbopogon Flexuousus – is often used for treating:
digestive tract spasms, stomachache, high blood pressure, convulsions, pain, vomiting, cough, achy joints (rheumatism), fever, the common cold, and exhaustion. It is also used to kill germs and as a mild astringent.
