Description
Our Geranium Rose – Pelargonium graveolens var. roseum is sourced in South Africa and comes from the plant Geraniaceae. We have both the organic version and the pure and natural oils available. The plant has finely divided, shapely clusters of small pink flowers. The parts that are used to obtain the oil from are the leaves and stalks. The age of the stems and leaves being diluted will affect the aroma. The fragrance turns from a lemony-rose aroma to a more rose-type aroma when crushed. Several varieties of geranium are distilled for their oil.
The essential oil is native to southern Africa, although the most prized oil for perfumery comes from an island off Madagascar, Réunion, formerly known as Ile de Bourbon, hence the name geranium bourbon.
Geranium is such a versatile calming oil. Geranium is an equalizer, making everything smell a bit better, and as such is a great all-rounder in room fragrances.
Geranium oil is a paleyellow to palegreen liquid with a sweet, soft, flowery-rose, green aroma.
There are no contra-indications known for geranium essential oil.
I love Geranium for its versatility.
