Essential Oils are one of my favourite things. Every mom should have her special little kit containing all her favourite essential oils. I use them all the time for all sorts of things that I’ll share in future blog posts.
Essential oils are concentrated hydrophobic (which means they don’t mix with water – simply because they don’t attract water) liquids containing the chemicals from plants that can easily evaporate at normal room temperature.
There are many uses for essential oils.
They can be added to cosmetics, perfume or soap, or used to flavour food or drinks, and also for making household cleaning products smell superbly beautiful. I strongly recommend you don’t use it to flavour a drink though. I don’t believe one should drink them at all actually, unless recommended by a professional health care practitioner/doctor. Essential oils can be toxic if used incorrectly. Be sure to read our SAFETY GUIDELINES page to make sure you are using your essential oil correctly.
The most common use for essential oils is in a practice called aromatherapy. Healing effects are ascribed to the use of these oils through their aromatic compounds. There are few studies that have illustrated possible proof that essential oils are effective in treating any medical condition, however, there is a lot to be said about using substances and products that affect your sense of well-being. Imagine that soothing aroma of lavender floating above your steaming bathwater, or the whiff of refreshing lemongrass floating down the passage from your bathroom … hmmmmm. Intention is everything.
When measuring the vibration of essential oils using infrared (IR) spectroscopy you will discover that they have the highest frequencies of any other natural substances.
Pure grade essential oils range in frequency from 52MHz to as much as 580MHz. There is a lot of controversy about the frequency of oils so I won’t go into it in too much detail here – you will need to do your own research and decide for yourself what conclusion you want to make. What I will say is that if something makes you feel good, your frequency is up. Our oils come in different grades.
So if you allow yourself to lightly inhale the fragrance of these oils, either by receiving a massage from an aromatherapist, diffusing it into the air with a nebuliser, heating it over a candle or by burning incense, you will notice that some make you feel uplifted, and some don’t. The one that makes you feel uplifted will most likely be the one that can benefit you, albeit simply psychologically – because? Yep, you guessed it … it makes you feel good.
It is believed that if you are healthy, the frequency of your body will measure between 62MHz and 78MHz. And when your frequency falls below 57MHz you are susceptible to illness/disease. I believe that by surrounding yourself with higher frequency substances, like essential oils, you can most probably raise the vibration of your being because that’s how energy kind of works. When you’re happy, you’re high. When you’re depressed or sad, you’re on a low vibration. It’s pretty simple to me.
The Biology of Belief
Check your physics books if you ever bothered to keep them. lol.
Waves can either cancel each other out, or magnify each other depending on where they interact. Even music can have an effect on ones sense of well-being. There are many studies being initiated now with recently popular quantum mechanics and frequency related issues. I’ll leave it for you to study but I can put you on an interesting journey by referring you to this video:
It’s a long one but certainly enjoyable and enlightening. He also wrote this book “The Biology of Belief 10th Anniversary Edition: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter & Miracles” that explains a lot about our bodies and how everything really functions.
What I have done?
I’ve used essential oils for quite a long time now. I have found many benefits with various oils and I just love having them around. They are certainly soothing when stressed and can be very useful with disinfecting and cleaning ones home, soothing scrapes, bruises and sore muscles. I also like to use them to assist the body with the relief of symptoms of colds and flu. Have a look at our DEFENSOR product.
If you want a really good guide on how to use essential oils as well as which oils to use, I suggest this little book. Everybody’s Aromatherapy Pocket Reference by Ena Knox. She really laid it out so cleverly that you can easily find what you need when you need it. It never leaves my side.
